This video is about predicting the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mathematics paper 1 for the year 2023 and can serve also for KCSE 2024 as the testing format is similar. It focuses on Form 2 topics that are likely to be tested in the exam.
This is the second video uploaded on the channel to help students with their revisions. The first video focused on Form 1 topics and is available here.
Here are the key takeaways from the video:
The most tested topics in KCSE drawn from Form 2 work over the last 5 years (2018-2022) are Indices, Equations of Straight Lines, Transformations (Reflection, Rotation, Translation and Enlargement), Trigonometry.
Indices has been tested every year with 3-4 marks allocated.
Equations of Straight Lines was not tested in 2021 but has been a recurring topic in other years with 10 marks allocated.
Transformations (Reflection, Rotation, Translation and Enlargement) is another important topic that has been tested in the last four consecutive years with 10 marks allocated. Similarity and Congruency, a subtopic under Transformations, was only tested in 2022 with 3 marks and 10 marks allocated questions.
Trigonometry has been tested in all years except 2018 and mostly appears in section one with 3 marks allocated.
Victor also advises students to revise topics from form 1 as they are likely to be tested in paper 1 of the KCSE exams.
