Taraji held her pink bag tight, like a big hug. Her tummy did funny flips – a mix of being happy and scared. Today was her first day of school!
A big yellow bus came! It looked like a bee with shiny windows. mummy kneeled and smiled. "Ready for school, Taraji?" she asked.
Taraji nodded a little bit. The school was new and big, and she didn't know anyone. But mummy held her hand, and together they walked to the bus.
On the bus, Taraji saw a girl with bright pink shoes. The girl smiled at Taraji. "Hi! I'm Kyla," she said. "Are you new? Want to sit with me?"
Taraji smiled back. "Yes, please!"
The bus rumbled like a happy tummy and took them to school. The school looked like a big, colorful house with a fun playground!
Taraji's classroom was bright, clean, and well-arranged, with pictures and toys to play with. The teacher had a sunshine smile and a tag that was written "Ms. Emmy."
Taraji was shy, but Kyla was there. They sang songs, listened to stories, and even painted with green, soft stuff. They built a giant tower with colorful blocks too!
At lunch, Taraji shared a dinosaur sticker with Kyla and got a sparkly unicorn one in return!
When it was time to go home, Taraji wasn't scared anymore. She skipped out of school with her bag. It felt lighter, even though it held a drawing she made, a paper crown, and the memory of a super first day!
In the car, mummy asked, "What was the best part, Taraji?"
Taraji's eyes sparkled. She couldn't wait to tell her all about Kyla, Ms. Emmy, the green paint, and the best first day ever!
